About this Presentation
There’s a lot to learn about high altitude flying that is not often formally presented to pilots of piston airplanes. In this program BPPP instructor and past USAF Test Pilot School instructor Doug Moss will cover:
- Aerodynamics, weather, and physics associated with flying at high altitudes (below FL 250).
- Techniques to properly manage engine performance at high altitudes.
- Techniques to minimize hazards associated with hypoxia and carbon monoxide poisoning.
- Suggested equipment to obtain before flying at high altitudes.
Viewers will be able to type in their questions to be answered during the event. We’ll explain how to do so at the beginning of the webinar.\
Although this American Bonanza Society program is oriented toward pilots of Beech airplanes, the discussion, techniques and procedures described are valuable to the pilot of any airplane.
Presenters
Doug Moss is a former airline captain, McDonnell Douglas test pilot, US Air Force Test Pilot School instructor, and AOPA Legal Services panel attorney. He is currently a consultant in the aviation industry and provides flight instruction, primarily in the 58P, for several organizations, including BPPP. Doug has been a pilot for 48 years and has accumulated over 19,500 flight hours in over 60 aircraft types. His goal is to get to 20,000 hours flying before his wife or son take away his airplane keys. Doug owns a Pressurized Baron and an M35 Bonanza.
