I took my first engine apart when I was 10 on our Farm. I graduated from Michigan Technological University and initially wanted to be a Mechanical Engineer and build race car engines. Life has its changes and I graduated as a Metallurgical Engineer and worked on Turbine engines instead. After a successful career as an engineer working my way up to a Director Level Position, along with being a flight instructor, I joined a commuter airline and really learned about systems, procedures, check lists (not "to do" lists!) and ATC. Our airplane was the second one on the field with a GNS 430 and I realized that I had to learn how to teach systems and how it all comes together, which was over 20 years ago. I instructed with BPPP for many years and now validate Instructor Candidates who want to join our ranks! I also participate in owner assisted annuals and feel it is the best way to really get to know your machine!! Flying is my passion, and I am embarrassed to admit how much time I spend just trying to keep up with the changing technology in our Avionics Industry. I look forward to meeting you!! |
